For more than three centuries, the Old Believers, persecuted by the Russian Orthodox Church and the state, have demonstrated their faith and perseverance, and their ability to adapt to different living conditions. Today, the Old Believers face the challenge of modernity, because the preservation of their faith and culture has always been associated with conservatism and distance from the authorities.
